Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this season, Central Methodist sophomore shortstop Madison White has been named the Heart Softball Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday.
She joins teammate Madison Love as the only two Eagles to earn conference honors for their performances at the plate.
White and CMU earned three consecutive sweeps this past week over Park, Clarke, and Mount Mercy. For the week, the Columbia, Mo., native hit .632 with 12 hits in 19 at-bats, including seven for extra bases. Altogether, White recorded 10 RBI with four doubles and three home runs. She also scored 10 runs.
So far this season, White leads Central in home runs (11), doubles (13), hits (46), RBI (33), and walks (20).
Central currently stands at 27-4 and 19-1 in conference play and is riding an 18-game winning streak. CMU remains atop the Heart standings with a .950 winning percentage in the conference.
The Eagles are slated to host MidAmerica Nazarene University for a doubleheader Wednesday, April 20 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Cox Softball Complex.
