Central Earns NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Central Methodist Head Softball Coach Pat Reardon, along with Associate Head Coach Gene Reardon and Assistant Coach Jonathan Lynch, were tabbed by the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association as the NAIA Region V Coaching Staff of the year Tuesday.

This marks the seventh time Coach Reardon and his staff have been recognized by the NFCA, including the first since the 2016 season.

The Eagles finished the year with an overall record of 42-7 and an outstanding 27-1 mark in conference play. CMU swept the regular season and tournament championships for the first time since the 2014 season and rattled off 28 consecutive wins from March 16 - May 6. The 28-straight victories are the most by the program in the last 15 seasons.

Coach Reardon was named the 2022 Heart of America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, coaching nine Heart All-Conference selections including the Player and Freshman of the Year.

In addition, the Eagles advanced to the Opening Round Championship of the Bowling Green bracket as the No. 1 seed in this year's NAIA National Championship in Bowling Green, Ky.

Completing his 30th season with the program in 2022, Coach Reardon boasts an all-time record of 892-558-1, just eight wins shy of 900 for his career.
