No. 8 Central Falls to No. 5 Freed-Hardeman in Single Game

No. 8 Central Falls to No. 5 Freed-Hardeman in Single Game

Henderson, Tenn. - The No. 8 Central Methodist Softball program fell in a Top 10 showdown to No. 5 Freed-Hardeman by a score of 5-0 Wednesday afternoon in Henderson, Tenn.

The second game of the originally scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to lightning in the area.

Central's bats ran into a phenomenal pitching performance by the Lions' Britany Adair, who struck out eight while taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning in the shut out victory.

Kelena Oots broke up the no hitter with a single through the left side in the lead off at-bat in the top of the sixth.

Jordyn Ball got the start in the circle for CMU, tossing four complete innings. Haley Cotter would come in relief for the final two innings of work, giving up no runs on two hits.

Central will begin play at the Gulf Shores Invitational with a matchup against Bethel (Tenn.) Friday, March 3 at 9:00 a.m. in Gulf Shores, Ala.
