Fayette, Mo. - The No. 21 Central Methodist Softball program completed a doubleheader sweep over MidAmerica Nazarene by scores of 7-0 and 9-1 Saturday afternoon at Cox Softball Complex.
The Eagles improve their overall record to 17-5 and 4-0 in the Heart, while MNU falls to 14-10 and 4-4 in conference action.
Freshman Jordyn Ball had a masterful showing inside the circle in game one. The native of Fayette, Mo. tossed a complete game no-hitter, retiring all but three batters and striking out seven. The victory marks Ball's seventh win of 2023.
Madison White led the Eagle bats with three hits, including an RBI-double. Kelena Oots, Madison Roberts, and Lauren Hill all picked up two hits. Oots and Makayla Albert each collected a stolen base.
Overall, Central finished the day scoring seven runs on 12 hits.
The Eagles won game two in just five innings by a final score of 9-1.
Haile Farris earned her fourth win of the year, throwing a complete game and giving up just one earned run on three hits. She also picked up four strikeouts.
Oots tallied three hits in four at bats as the leadoff hitter and Roberts followed with two.
Hill recorded a triple to center field to plate two runs in the bottom of the third. White sealed the victory in the bottom of the fifth with a two-RBI double to centerfield.
Central remains at home to host Graceland University Sunday, April 2 for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Cox Softball Complex.
