Kansas City, Mo. - After an incredible three-game stretch last week, Central Methodist freshman pitcher Jordyn Ball was named the NAIA National Pitcher of the Week by the NAIA office Tuesday.
Ball, a native of Fayette, Mo., posted a 3-0 record last week which included wins over William Penn, Peru State and Park.
She threw a complete game shut out in each game she pitched, which included a perfect game against Peru State on April 22.
In 19 innings in the circle, the freshman allowed just six hits while striking out 16 batters. For her efforts, she was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday.
Ball and the Eagles will next face the Mount Mercy Mustangs Wednesday, April 26 for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
