No. 1 Central Run Rules Grand View in Heart Tournament

No. 1 Central Run Rules Grand View in Heart Tournament

Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Softball team continued to roll in the Heart Conference Tournament, defeating No. 4 seeded Grand View University 8-0 in five innings Friday afternoon in Baldwin City, Kan. 

CMU scored scored eight runs on nine hits including doubles from Joely Crider, Madison White, and Lauren Hill. The big inning for CMU came in the final inning, where they scored seven runs to close the game out. 

Central received consistent batting from up and down the lineup, as six different Eagles recorded at least one hit, and seven driving in one run. 

Crider, Palumbo, and Hill all picked up two hits in three at bats, including a two-RBI double from Crider to close the game out. 

Haley Cotter earned her fifth win of the year, tossing a complete game shut out and giving up just two hits and one walk while striking out six. 

With the win, Central improves to 36-10 and advances to face the winner of Baker and Mount Mercy University Saturday, May 6 at 12:00 p.m.
