Canton, Mo. - The No. 18 Central Methodist Women's Soccer program took care of business on the road against Culver-Stockton College Saturday night in Canton, Missouri.
CMU defeated the Wildcats by a final score of 3-1 thanks to a first half brace from junior forward Mariana Barreto and a second half gola from Lauren Berger.
Central are now winners of seven of their last eight games. They improve to 8-1-2 and 6-0-1 in the Heart of America.
Culver drops to 5-5-1 and 2-5 in conference play.
The Eagles outshot Culver-Stockton, 14-9, as well as shots on goal, 8-4.
Barreto led the offense, taking six total shots with four being on frame and two finding the back of the net. She now has a team leading 14 goals on the year so far.
Berger connected on her lone shot of the game in the 63rd minute, while both Luana Jarolin and Luisa Schaupp recorded assists in the victory.
Amber Bennett picked up her eighth win of the year, playing all 90 minutes in goal and recording three saves.
CMU returns home to host Grand View University Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. at Davis Field.
