Fayette, Mo. - The No. 16 Central Methodist Women's Soccer program picked up its fourth consecutive win with a 3-0 victory over Grand View Saturday afternoon at Davis Field.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 9-1-2 and 7-0-1 in the Heart of America. The Vikings drop to 1-6-2 and 1-6 in conference action.
Additionally the Eagles are now undefeated in their last 10 matches.
Central's first goal came from none other than junior forward Mariana Barreto in the 22nd minute. Barreto convered a penalty kick to give CMU a 1-0 lead, her team leading 15th goal of the year.
The Eagles continued their scoring in the opening moments of the second half, as Jenna Brouwer scored her first goal of the year off a deflected ball inside the box.
The final goal of the match came off the foot of Sara Garcia in the 74th minute with a penalty kick conversion.
As a team, Central finished the night with 17 total shots, including six on goal. CMU's defense held Grand View to just one shot through the full 90 minutes of action.
Amber Bennett secured her ninth win of the year between the posts, playing the first 74 minutes. Brooke Assur came in relief for the final 17 minutes of game play.
Central will next play Graceland University Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1:00 p.m. in Lamoni, Iowa.
