Atchison, Kan. - The No. 14 Central Methodist Women's Soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 12 matches with a 2-1 win over Benedictine College Wednesday night in Atchison, Kan. 

Central remains atop the Heart Regular season standings with a 11-1-2 overall record and a 9-0-1 mark in the Heart of America. Benedictine drops to 10-4-1 and 6-3-1 in the conference. 

Maja Henriksen scored her first goal of the year in the 61st minute, giving CMU a 1-0 lead. Benedictine matched Central with a goal of their own five minutes later to tie the match at 1-1.

Junior Mariana Barreto found the go-ahead goal for the Eagles in the 77th minute to give CMU a 2-1 win on the road. 

Central held the offensive pace for the duration of the match, outshooting the Ravens 16-6 and 8-3 in shots on goal.  

Benedictine held a slight advantage in corner kicks, 6-4. 

Barreto produced a majority of Central's offense, firing off nine total shots with four shots on goal. 

Pascalle Rodriguez finished the night with three shots, including two shots on goal. 

Amber Bennett secured her 11th win of the year as the Eagles' primary goalkeeper, recording two saves in a full 90 minutes between the posts. 

Central returns to Fayette to begin a three-game home stand to close the regular season. The Eagles will next host Mount Mercy University Saturday, Oct. 18 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
