Maryville, Mo. - The Central Methodist men's and women's indoor track & field programs continued competition with a trip to the Herschel Neil Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State University Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Mo.
On the women's side, Kailey Johnson broke the school record in the prelims for the 60m dash with a time of 7.90. In the finals, she broke her own school record with a time of 7.86, good enough for sixth place. Johnson also finished the 60m hurdles in fourth place with a time of 9.39, setting a new PR. Mason Fitzgerald had a Top-10 finish in the 400m dash, setting a new PR with a time of 1:01.68.
The 4x400 team of Fitzgerald, Abbie Hale, Johnson and Madeline Weisemann finished in fifth place with a time of 4:06.42.
Antoinette Flowers set a new PR in the 200m dash with a time of 25.82, good enough for a fourth place finish. Lisa Sauter finished third in the 5k run with a time of 18:48.18, a new PR for the senior.
In the field events, Amara Reichert and Caroline Weatherford finished second and third respectively in Pole Vault with marks of 2.76-meters and 2.61-meters. In the long jump, Katelyn Weber finished fifth with a jump of 4.95m. Weber also finished sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.43m.
Karli Wolfe set a new personal best in the shot put with a throw of 11.22m, good enough for an eighth place finish.
For the men, Brennan Moots had a Top-10 finish in the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.93 seconds. The 4x400m relay team of Hayden Hackman, Nehemiah Colyer, Curtis Johns and Mohammed Nyaoga finished fifth with a time of 3:20.18.
Senior Jacob Fritz finished in fourth place in the men's high jump with a jump of 1.88m. In both the men's long jump and triple jump, Abdulai Rashid finished sixth and fourth with jumps of 6.51m and 13.17m respectively. Three time Heart Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, Taylor Bottomley continues to impress as he won the men's shot put with a throw of 15.73m and finished third in the men's weight throw with a toss of 17.86m.
Both teams will be back in action at the UCM Mule Relays on Thursday, Feb. 4 in Warrensburg, Mo.
