Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Central Methodist Indoor Track & Field program produced several top performances at the Warrior Indoor Invitational Friday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Junior sprinter Tre'breh Scott set the facility record in the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.67 seconds, finishing first. Gizel Clayton posted a new PR in the event with a time of 8.78 seconds to place third. Both of their times in the preliminaries were good enough to hit the 'A' standard to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championship.
In addition, Clayton hit the 'B' standard in the 200m dash in 25.75.
Freshman Yanira Paninka joined Scott and Clayton as national qualifiers. The native of the Fuerteaventura, Canary Islands competed in the 3000m racewalk, finishing the event in 16:17.91 to hit the 'A' standard.
Freshman Kjirsten Guilford ran a new personal best in the 600m run in a time of 1:36.71. On a 200m flat track in the event, she hit the 'A' standard for nationals.
Dayana Montenegro and Sakoya Johnson finished 3-4 in the 400m.
Senior Mohammed Nyaoga competed in the 200m dash, running a time of 22.74.
Central will next compete in the UCM Mule Relays beginning Friday, Jan. 27 in Warrensburg, Mo.
