Kansas City, Mo. - For the second time in 2023, Central Methodist sophomore sprinter Gizel Clayton was tabbed as the Heart Women's Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office. 

The native of Jamaica had a solid outing at the highly competitive Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta, Ga. Altogether, she competed in three events including the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter and 100-meter dash.

She broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.63 for a fourth place finish. The time is now the No. 1 mark in the Heart and No. 3 in the NAIA.
