Rolla, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track & Field program continued outdoor competition at the Miner Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T this past weekend in Rolla, Mo.
On the men's side, Chris Adekoya finished third in the 200m dash in a time of 21.17 seconds. Adrian Watson secured a runner-up finish in the 400 with a time of 47.90 seconds.
In the field events, Colder Evans posted a third place finish in the discus with a toss of 47.90 meters. He also hit a new personal best in the Hammer Throw, improving his national qualifying mark to 53.89 meters and finishing eighth.
Brayton Stephenson punched his ticket to nationals in the shot put, hitting an 'A' standard throw of 16.11 meters to finish fourth. Newcomer Viktar Kachalouski posted a second place standing in the High Jump, clearing a height of 1.95 meters.
For the women, Renee Finke took home first place finishes in both the 100m hurdles and the High Jump. In the hurdles, Finke earned gold after clocking a time of 14.68 seconds. She followed that up with a first-place clearing height of 1.68 meters.
Fellow high jumper Delaney Miller placed second in the event with a jump of 1.65 meters. Both Finke and Miller have punched their tickets to this year's outdoor national championships.
Janiyah Brown and Na'Zariah James placed third and fourth in the triple jump with marks of 10.97 and 10.87 meters respectively.
Baylee Beard improved upon her 'A' standard throw in the Hammer with a toss of 53.86 meters. In addition, the sophomore finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 12.99 meters.
Karli Wolfe joined Beard as a national qualifier in the Hammer Throw, tossing a new personal best of 50.94 meters which hit the 'A' standard for qualification.
Kali Brown posted a seventh place finish in the Discus with a throw of 39.52 meters. Yanira Paninka hit the 'B' standard in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:04.54. In the 400m, Dayana Montenegro took home first place in the race with a time of 56.80 seconds, good enough to hit the 'B' standard for national qualification.
The program will host the CMU Invitational, a two-day meet beginning Friday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Field and Hairston Track.
