Carbondale, Ill. - The Central Methodist Women's Track and Field program had a fast start in its first indoor meet of the 2024-25 season at the Saluki Fast Start Invitational in Carbondale, Illinois.
The meet was held on the campus of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
Senior Renee Finke hit the national qualifying 'B' standard in the 60m hurdles, running a time of 8.87 seconds as part of the pentathlon. Finke would ultimately win the five-event competition after tallying 3,494 total points, which also was good enough to qualify for the national championship meet.
Fellow teammate Haley Bellamy posted a second place standing with 3,470 points, followed by Joana Vakasobuduru, who finished fourth with 3,355 points. Vakasobuduru hit a new PR in four of the five events. The duo join Finke as national qualifiers in Gainesville, Florida.
