Seward, Neb. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program saw two Eagles qualify for nationals and a new meet record set at the Concordia Bulldog Invite Friday in Concordia, Neb.
Senior Parys Smith took home first place in the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.0 seconds flat. Joana Vakasobuduru, Haley Bellamy, and Sofia Rizo went 3-4-5 in the same event.
Junior Zakiya Porter won the 60m dash, clocking a time of 7.74 seconds. The time also set a new meet record.
The duo of Dayana Montenegro and Diane Ondobo placed first and third in the 400m dash with national qualifying times of 57.73 and 58.16 seconds respectively following track size conversions.
Ali Gutierrez earned a second place standing in the 600m run with a time of 1:42.25. Molly Milazzo finished second in the 1,000m run, crossing the line in 3:20.15.
Cynthia Resor competed in the 3,000m racewalk and placed third with a time of 25:00.57.
Bellamy jumped 5.52 meters in the long jump to finish third.
Central continues competition at the Coach Alsup Open Saturday, Jan. 18 on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo.
