Kansas City, Mo. - For the second time in 2025, Central Methodist senior Dayana Montenegro was named the Heart of America Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office. 

Montenegro traveled to the Washburn Open this past weekend in Topeka, Kansas. The native of Cali, Colombia competed in both the 600-yard run and the 400m dash. 

She ran the 600-yard in a time of 1:25.90 and the 400m in 56.67, hitting the 'B' standard for qualification into this year's NAIA Indoor National Championships in both events. 

Montenegro and the Eagles will turn their attention to the Heart Indoor Conference Championships, set to begin Friday, Feb. 14 in Maryville, Mo.
