Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program will see 17 of its own compete in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships this week at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida.
The three-day event will begin on Thursday, Feb. 27, and conclude Saturday, March 1.
On the men's side, Central will be represented by Colder Evans (Shot Put), Brayton Stephenson (Shot Put), Doriye Jackson (600m Run), Hugo Massa (600m Run), Ethan Smith (Heptathlon), and Leroy Williams (60m Hurdles).
Stephenson, Williams, Smith, and Jackson all have championship experience at indoor nationals, competing at previous championship meets in Brookings, South Dakota.
For the CMU Women, the Eagles are represented by Haley Bellamy (High Jump & Pentathlon), Dayana Montenegro (600m Run), Claireece Cross (Triple Jump), Renee Finke (High Jump & Pentathlon), Diane Ondobo (600m Run), Allena Rowland (600m Run), Joana Vakasobuduru (Pentathlon) and Karli Wolfe (Weight Throw).
The 4x400m relay team of Aroa Carballo, Zakiya Porter, Montenegro, Rowland, Vakasobuduru, Ondobo, Bellamy will also represent Central in the relays.
Four of those women are returning Indoor NAIA All-Americans from the 2024 season, which includes Finke, who was a two-time All-American (2nd - Pentathlon & 6th - High Jump), Bellamy (7th - Pentathlon), Wolfe (7th - Weight Throw), and Montenegro (3rd - 600m Run).
Action starts Thursday at 10:00 a.m. beginning with the men's pentathlon.
