Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist junior sprinter Shannon O'Neil was named the Heart of America Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office.
It marks the first weekly honor for O'Neil.
In Central's first outdoor meet of the year, the CMU Open held at Davis Field and Hairston Track this past weekend, O'Neil competed in the 400m hurdles and the high jump.
She won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.87. The native of Liberty, Missouri, also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.46 meters.
Central will next compete at the Miner Invitational, a two-day meet hosted by Missouri S&T that begins Friday, March 21, in Rolla, Missouri.
