Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this season, Central Methodist junior sprinter Diane Ondobo was named the Heart of America Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the conference office Monday.
The Gilbert, Arizona native won the award after winning gold in the 400m dash at the Miner Invitational this past weekend in Rolla, Missouri.
During the race, Ondobo hit the NAIA 'B' standard for qualification into this year's NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with a time of 55.75 seconds.
Ondobo and the Eagles return home to host the CMU Invite, which will begin Friday, March 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Field and Hairston Track.
