Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist senior Allena Rowland was named the first NAIA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week of 2025-26 by the national office on Wednesday.
It marks the first national weekly honor for Rowland and comes on the heels of her winning the award at the conference level.
At the Concordia Early Bird Invite, the native of Hereford, Arizona, had an outstanding day on the track, earning two first-place finishes while also hitting the NAIA "A" standard in both events.
She began the meet by winning the 400-meter dash in 55.42 against a field of 16 athletes, a performance that not only met the "A" standard but also set a new school record. The mark currently ranks No. 1 in the NAIA this season.
Rowland capped off her day by anchoring Central Methodist's 4x400-meter relay to another victory. The Eagles' quartet posted a winning time of 3:51.58 in a field of six teams, again achieving the "A" standard for national championship qualification.
Rowland and the Eagles will next return to action at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational Saturday, Jan. 10, in Columbia, Mo.
