Kenny Anderson enters his sixth season as the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country at Central Methodist in 2025-26.
Since joining CMU, Coach Anderson has quickly built a reputation as one of the most dynamic and respected coaches in the NAIA. Anderson, also known as Coach #CutTheCheck, has led the Eagles to multiple conference championships, national rankings, national finishes, and program-record performances. Under his leadership, dozens of athletes have earned All-Conference, All-American, and NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. In 2024, Anderson led the women’s team to its highest finish in program history at the NAIA Indoor National Championship, where they finished fifth. The Women’s Track team was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally during the 2025 Indoor Season.
Known for his high-energy leadership, elite recruiting, and commitment to holistic development, Anderson has cultivated a championship culture centered on faith, family, and legacy. His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, character, and a relentless pursuit of excellence both on and off the track.
Anderson came to Central after spending two seasons as the Assistant Track and Field Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Johnson C. Smith University (NCAA Division II). During his time with the Golden Bulls, Anderson coached 15 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) selections, two CIAA individual runner-ups, and inked four New Balance All-Americans.
Prior to his time with Johnson C. Smith, Anderson made stops on the track at Bolles School and Withrow High School. He also served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball teams at Stetson University (NCAA Division I) and Lynn University (NCAA Division II).
Coach Anderson continues to elevate the CMU program with a vision focused on impact, growth, and leaving a lasting legacy—building not only athletes but also leaders.
A Florida native, Anderson graduated with a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Florida A&M University.
Coach Anderson also currently serves on the USTFCCCA NAIA Track & Field Executive as the 2nd Vice President.
