Fayette, Mo. - The No. 16 Central Methodist Volleyball pogram secured a three-set sweep over Benedictine College by scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-23 Saturday afternoon inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles improve to 9-4 and 3-3 in the Heart, while the Ravens drop to 9-4 and 3-1 in conference play. Central also hands Benedictine their first conference loss of the season with today's victory.
Junior Callie Henson led Central's attack with 10 kills on 30 swings, in addition to three digs and a block assist. Delaney Miller was CMU's most efficient hitter, tallying seven kills for a .333 hitting percentage. The junior from Buffalo, Mo. also added three block assists.
Rita Campos matched Miller with seven kills and added six digs, one solo block and a service ace.
Overall, Central's hitters finished the afternoon with a .248 hitting percentage, compared to just .084 for the Ravens.
Senior setter Marina Alonso dished out a match-high 22 assists, followed by Gabi Owczarek with 11. Alonso also recorded eight digs and two service aces. Krystal Brauner led the Cenral defense with 15 digs in addition to 10 from Annabelle Maassen.
The Eagles will return to action when they make the trip to Dubuque, Iowa to face Clarke University Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 p.m.
