Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist track and field program earned two individual superlative award winners at the conclusion of the Heart of America Outdoor Championships this past weekend.
Head Coach Kenny Anderson was named Women's Outdoor Coach of the Year, while Isaac Lawson was honored as the Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Meet.
The recognition marks Anderson's third Women's Outdoor Coach of the Year award and his 10th overall Heart coaching honor, including both indoor and outdoor seasons.
Anderson led the CMU women to their second consecutive Heart Outdoor title and their third in the past four years. Central totaled 237.5 points—nearly 40 points ahead of the runner-up—and produced eight individual conference champions.
Lawson, who enters his first year with the program in 2025–26, captured titles in both the 200-meter dash (21.23) and 400-meter dash (47.23), contributing 20 points to the team total. He also competed on two championship relay teams and finished as the meet's top-scoring freshman with 25 total points.
A native of Allen, Texas, Lawson helped lead the CMU men to a runner-up finish.
