KANSAS CITY - Sophomore Cris Renteria of Central Methodist was selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Renteria posted one of the fastest times in school history with a strong performance at the Missouri Southern Stampede. A native of Monett, Mo., he clocked a time of 25:31 over the 8K course to claim an individual finish of second place.

The weekly award winner will represent the HAAC in consideration for the NAIA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award, which will be announced no later than Tuesday afternoon.
