Fayette, Mo. – Central Methodist University STUNT welcomed top competition to Fayette this weekend, hosting a multi-game slate at home against regional opponents.
The Eagles battled through five contests over two days, gaining valuable experience through each contest.
On Saturday, CMU opened play against Drury University, falling 20-5. The Eagles returned to the mat later in the day to face Maryville University, dropping a 22-2 decision. In their final contest of the day, CMU again squared off with Drury, showing improvement in an 18-7 final.
Sunday's action began with a tightly contested matchup against Missouri Valley College. The Eagles battled throughout the four quarters of play, coming up just short in a 21-18 thriller — the narrowest margin of the weekend. CMU concluded the tournament with a final matchup against Maryville.
While the results did not fall in the Eagles' favor, the weekend provided CMU the opportunity to compete on its home floor and build momentum as the team progresses through the season.
The Eagles will next compete in two games against UT Martin and Maryville Saturday, March 14th in Martin, Tenn.
