Men's Results
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Central Methodist University women's cross country team finished sixth Saturday in the 5k Southern Stampede, hosted by Missouri Southern State University. The men's team placed seventh in an 8k race.
For the women's team, Taylor Beaverson finished 27th overall in a time of 19:25.83.�
"Taylor ran a great race," coach Chris Sandefur said. "She was the second girl from our conference to finish (the race). She ran a great second half of the race, and I am excited to see how the rest of the season will go for her."
Elise Schreiber placed 33rd after crossing the finish line in 19:30.82. Amber Beaverson came in 41st with a time of 19:40.06.
"The girls team had a great performance overall," Sandefur noted. "This is a much better team than the team we had that won conference (in 2011)."
On the men's side, Colby Lapresi finished 15th overall in a time of 26:18.57.�
"Colby fought the conditions well and showed that he will be a contender for the conference championship," Sandefur commented.
Cris Renteria was 21st overall after running the race in 26:35.21. Tyler Meierarend finished 61st overall in a time of 27:42.95.
"This meet showed me that the future of the men's program is going to be a memorable one," Sandefur said.
Central Methodist will host the Gary Stoner Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. CT.
