KANSAS CITY - Central Methodist's Emily Nealley, Adriana Romero and Hailey Breusch have booked their tickets to the 34th Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship, as the entire 32-team team field and individual qualifiers were announced by the national office Monday.
Romero and Beusch are making their third appearance in the National Championship race, while Nealley is making her second.
Nealley led the Eagles' finishers across the line at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship last Saturday, placing fifth overall with a time of 19:46.56. Romero (20.00.58, eighth overall) and Breusch (20:01.89, ninth overall) will join Nealley on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.
Defending national champion British Columbia, which has been ranked No. 1 throughout the 2013 season, headlines the 32-team women's field made up of 21 conference, independent and unaffiliated grouping champions; two conference, independent, and unaffiliated grouping runners-up and nine at-large selections.
Beyond the 32-team field, 103 individualsrepresenting 63 institutionswill also compete at the National Championship. The women's 5-kilometer race will begin at 11:45 a.m. CT.
