AUBURN, Neb. - Emily Nealley and Megan Greener finished in the top eight overall to lead Central Methodist to a third-place finish in the 2014 Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championship, held at Auburn Country Club. The Eagles totaled 75 points.
Nealley is headed back to the National Championship, while Greener will make her first appearance on the national stage at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday, Nov. 22, in the 35th annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship.
Nealley finished fifth overall Saturday in the 5k race in a time of 18:55.81. Greener was eighth after crossing the finish line in 19:18.33. Crystin Wilson was 19th in 20:20.23. Allyson Ng was 20th in a time of 20:20.49. Veronica Hancock was 23rd in 20:32.75. Shannon Feurt was 26th with a time of 20:45.07. Kaitlyn Loeffler rounded out the top seven Eagle finishers, placing 36th in 21:57.32.
No. 24 Benedictine (Kan.) won the team portion with 26 points, and Katherine Dillard took the top spot in 18:13.18.
