ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Central Methodist women's cross country team finished 14th of 27 teams at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday evening.

"It was an outstanding day for our ladies. We had wonderful conditions to run in, and we really attacked the course and were rewarded with fast times. Tough to really judge where we stood because this was a kilometer farther than we usually run but I'm still really proud of how we competed, to place 14th in a field like this is really impressive," said Coach Nelson. "This was a tremendous field, with over 300 runners and Lisa placed in the top 20. She's getting better and better every week and really learning how to run at the front of races like this, so I'm excited about her development."

Lisa Suater finished first for the Eagles at 16th place with a time of 23:28. Abby Cross was the next CMU member to cross the line at 24:57 in 90th place, followed by Brooke Van Voorhis (SO/Corinth, Texas) in 99th place at 25:06.

Shelia Sugut (26:10), Alex Head (28:46), and Sarah White (FR/Smithton, Mo.) (30:17) also competed for Central Methodist.

The Eagles will return to action Saturday, Oct. 6, to host the Gary Stoner Invitational.
