KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After a stellar performance at the Maple Leaf Classic, Lisa Sauter (JR/Schefflenz, Germany) has been named the Heart of America Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Sauter earned a first place finish in a dominating performance on Saturday, finished 14 seconds ahead of the next runner. Her performance came in less than ideal conditions on a course that featured a number of rolling hills and a steep, long incline. Conditions for the course were worsened by the recent heavy downpour that resulted in a sloppy, wet, and muddy terrain.
Sauter and the Eagles will return to action on Saturday, September 7th, as they'll host the Eagle Invitational. She will enter the event as the reigning champion after winning the event last season with a time of 19:59.
