Ozinga Recognized as Heart Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. - After a remarkable day Saturday, Central Methodist freshman Tara Ozinga was named the Heart Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, which was announced by the conference office Monday. 

Ozinga and the Eagles competed at the Brian Simpson Invite, hosted at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri. Out of 164 runners competing in the 5K, Ozinga posted a time of 18:56.56 to place 17th. 

The time was good enough to land the freshman at No. 11 in the all-time Top 25 fastest times in program history. 

Ozinga and the Eagles will run their final regular season race at the NAIA Blazing Tiger Classic Saturday, Oct. 26 in Ashland, Nebraska.
