Tim Prescott

Tim Prescott

Central Methodist Director of Athletics Jeff Sherman announced the hiring of Tim Prescott as the New Head Women's Wrestling Coach in June, 2024.

"I couldn't be more excited to have Coach Prescott lead our women's wrestling program," stated Sherman.

"He has impressive experience from his standout collegiate days as a NCAA Division II National Champion, as well as his coaching contributions. Tim is a man of high character with a relentless work ethic. I am impressed with his detailed philosophy and vision for success. He is an excellent recruiter, and I look forward to having him take our program to new heights."

Prescott comes to CMU after serving as the Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. He was promoted to Head Coach of the Falcons after two years of serving as an assistant coach and the interim head coach.

He led Friends to a pair of Top 30 finishes in the NAIA. This past year, the program finished 23rd at the NAIA National tournament. Previously, the team placed 26th in 2022.

Prescott coached the two first-ever national qualifiers in 2022 and the first NAIA All-American for Friends in 2023.

Prior to Friends, he spent two years as the Head Men's Wrestling Coach and the Director of Wrestling at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas. While leading the Tigers, he founded and established the first-ever wrestling facility and coached three KCAC/SAC placers.

Prescott also coached two years as an assistant at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

In 2019, he earned a Masters of Sport Performance and Leadership at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota where he gained additional coaching experience as a graduate assistant.

Wrestling collegiately at St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minnesota, he served as a team captain and won the 125 pound 2015 NCAA National Championship. He was a member of back-to-back national championship teams for SCSU in 2015 and 2016. Prescott was recognized as the NSIC Wrestler of the Year in 2015.

He received a bachelors degree in liberal studies from St. Cloud in 2017.

Prior to transferring to SCSU, Prescott was a standout junior college wrestler at Neosho County Community College where he was a two-time NJCAA All-American. He concluded his collegiate career as a three-time Academic All-American.
