Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist golf duo of Matias Baccola and Cassandra Contreras swept the Heart Weekly awards, as each earned Heart Conference Golfer of the Week honors this week. 

This marks the second award for Contreras, after claiming the weekly honors back on Sept. 21. The freshman from Goodyear, Ariz. won the Evangel Spring Invite back on March 8-9 with a two round score of 166, six strokes better than the second place finisher. The women finished third out of six teams.

Baccola concluded the Evangel Spring Invite with a two-round score of 145, finishing tied for second, the best finish of any Heart golfer at the event. He fired rounds of 71 and 74 and the Eagles finished third overall out of 10 teams.

CMU competes on the final day of the Missouri Valley College Invite Tuesday, March 16 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Marshall, Mo.
