Marshall, Mo. – The CMU Men's Golf program wrapped up competition Tuesday at the Missouri Valley College Spring Invitational, finishing 11th in a deep field after two days of play.
The Eagles posted rounds of 303-292-309 to finish with a tournament total of 904, competing against a field that included multiple teams from host Missouri Valley College and William Woods University. Missouri Valley's A team claimed the title at -28, while William Woods finished runner-up at -23.
Central showed its best form in Monday's second round, firing a 292 as a team to climb the leaderboard heading into the final round. The Eagles were led individually by Rocco Amoia, who finished tied for 30th at 224. Amoia capped his tournament with a steady final-round 74.
Cylas Worley and Brayden Loftin each turned in top-40 finishes, tying for 37th at 226. Worley posted consistent rounds of 76-74-76, while Loftin highlighted the tournament for CMU with a second-round 68, one of the team's lowest rounds of the event.
Zane Downey added a tie for 52nd (233), and Keenan James rounded out the scoring lineup in 67th (242).
Central also fielded a B team that finished tied for 15th overall. Peyton Taylor led that group with a tie for 74th (248), followed by Brock Jenkins (T-76 -251), Atticus Brandes (80th - 255), Alvin Braemhagen (81st - 259), and Travis Allen (84th - 266).
The Eagles will turn their attention to postseason play, competing in the Heart of America Conference Tournament beginning Monday, April 27th, in Smithville, Mo.
