Kansas City, Mo. - After an outstanding performance at the 2022 Heart Conference Championships, senior men's golfer Matias Baccola was named the NAIA National Men's Golfer of the Week by the national office Wednesday afternoon. 

Baccola was nominated for his performance and elected out of a pool of conference and independent institutions award winners.

At this year's Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships in Raymore, Mo., the native of La Falda, Argentina won the individual title with a -10 under-par performance. 

He shot rounds of 72, 68, and 66 to win the event by nine strokes. In addition, Baccola led the men to their first conference championship since the 2013 season. For his efforts at the championship, he was recognized as the Men's Golfer of the Year and an All-Conference performer. 

Baccola and the Eagles will next compete at the 2022 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship May 17-20 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
