Norman, Okla. - After a remarkable 21-2022 campaign, Central Methodist senior men's golfer Matias Baccola was named to the NAIA PING All-Region North team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Baccola, a native of La Falda, Argentina earned All-Region honors after winning the individual title with a -10 under-par performance at the Heart Golf Championships at The Golf Club at Creekmoor in Raymore, Mo. this past April.
He shot rounds of 72, 68, and 66 to win the event by nine strokes. In addition, Baccola led the men to their first conference championship since the 2013 season. For his efforts at the championship, he was recognized as the Heart Men's Golfer of the Year and an All-Conference performer.
Baccola was twice named the Heart Men's Golfer of the Week and recognized as the NAIA National Golfer of the Week for his efforts at the Heart Championships.
Overall this season, he posted 10 Top-10 finishes including two first place finishes.
Baccola and the Eagles are currently competing at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
