Lady Eagles Land Graceland Transfer

Lady Eagles Land Graceland Transfer
The Central Methodist University women's basketball team continued to build on its recruiting class with the signing of Graceland University transfer Sara Wagner.

Wagner, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, will have to sit out the 2010-11 season after transferring from Heart of America Athletic Conference foe Graceland, before joining the Lady Eagles squad as a redshirt sophomore for the 2011-12 season. Wagner was one of the top freshmen in the HAAC during her freshman season, posting averages of 7.24 points and 3.71 rebounds per game in 17 games for Graceland. Those numbers would have ranked fifth on the 2009-10 CMU squad in scoring and fourth in rebounding.

"Even though she has to sit out next year, we are extremely excited to add Sara to our program," CMU Head Coach Andi Brooks said. "She was easily one of the most talented freshmen in the HAAC this season. Next year, she will give our athletes the opportunity to practice against the tough talent they will face in the conference, and we expect her to make an immediate impact the following year."
