CMU took a 5-2 lead four minutes into the game, but the Lady Eagles were held scoreless until 8:26 left in the first half, allowing John Brown to get a 13-5 lead. JBU extended its lead to as many as 16 points with 4:41 left in the half, before holding a 32-18 lead at halftime. CMU got to within 10 points in the opening five minutes of the second half, but the Lady Eagles were unable to get any closer as JBU finished with the 67-45 win.

CMU shot 34.1 percent from the field, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. John Brown finished with 43.4 percent shooting from the field, and made 6-of-14 from behind the arc. JBU finished with a 33-29 rebounding advantage. John Brown forced 24 CMU turnovers, while committing 15.

Freshman Amoni Reynolds (Carol Stream, Ill.) led CMU with 10 points, while senior Jazmynn Hutchings (Des Moines, Iowa) finished with nine points and three steals. Junior Sami Dunger (Wildwood, Mo.) added eight points. Junior Alexa Fox (Columbia, Mo.) and sophomore Kristin Willer (Fulton, Mo.) were the leading rebounders for CMU with five each.

Central Methodist dropped to 1-6 on the season, while John Brown improved to 4-2. The Lady Eagles return to action Saturday in a�1 p.m. game against NAIA Division II No. 6 College of the Ozarks.
