BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Kyra Williams, Sami Dunger and Raylyn Nuss each scored 12 points to lead the Central Methodist women's basketball team to a 57-52 win at Baker on Saturday to close out the regular season. The Eagles (17-12, 13-5 Heart of America Athletic) ended the regular season with three consecutive wins after defeating the Wildcats (6-24, 4-14).
Central Methodist's Towanda Sutton scored in double-figures, coming up with 10 points to go along with eight rebounds. Karli Abbey totaled a game-high 12 boards. Nuss and Williams had five rebounds apiece.
Gloria Atanmo recorded a game-high 17 points for Baker. Christy Nelson had eight.
The Eagles led by nine points, 31-22, at halftime before withstanding a late charge by the Bobcats.
Central Methodist shot 36.5 percent (19-of-52) from the field. Baker was 30.8 percent (20-of-65) from the floor.
With the win, the Eagles earned the�No. 3�seed in the upcoming Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament. Central Methodist will host No. 6-seed Graceland in the tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday inside Puckett Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. The Eagles�won both meetings�against the Yellowjackets during the regular season, 75-69 and 56-52.
