FAYETTE, Mo. - Jasmine Poteete, a guard from Chicago, Ill., has decided to play for the Central Methodist women's basketball team�for the 2012-13 season, head coach James Arnold announced.��
"Jasmine was a no brainer signing for us," Arnold stated.�"She has tremendous experience, having started over 60 games in two incredibly tough JUCO leagues.�She is a lockdown defender who can guard multiple positions, and she has a tremendous motor.� I believe she will be one of the best defensive players in our league and will have a big impact on our program."
In 2010-11 at Grayson College, Potette�led the Lady Vikings to a 31-4 record and�fifth-place finish at the NJCAA Division One National Tournament. She averaged 9.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per contest.�In 2009-10 at Independence Community College, Potette�averaged 3.4 points and 4.0�rebounds per game, helping�lead the Lady Pirates to a 22-9 mark.
Potette attended Marshall High School and was an Illinois Big School All-State Honorable Mention selection. She�played for girls' basketball hoop legend Dorothy Gators.
Potette becomes the seventh member of Central Methodist's signing class of 2012, joining Telisha Joe, Hannah Yelton, Brook Paulsell, Taylor Cornelison, Bree'Ana Perry and Ashley Walker.
