FAYETTE, Mo. - The Central Methodist women's basketball team has added six players to its 2012 recruiting class, head coach James Arnold announced. Alyssa Elson, Lauren Little, Brooke Mullings, Victoria Little, Beth Crow and Demi Price will join the Eagles for the 2012-13 season.
Included in the six are three players (Lauren Little, Brooke Mullings, Victoria Little) from Hallsville High School in Hallsville, Mo. Lauren and Victoria Little are twin sisters.
"A huge part of winning consistently at this level is depth," Arnold said.�"Each of these young ladies will be a great benefit to our program, and we are very excited they have chosen CMU."
Over the past two seasons at Rockbridge High School in Columbia, Mo., Elson, a five-foot seven-inch combo guard, was a part of 47 total wins and the 2012 Class 5 State Championship team.�Before relocating to Columbia,�she was a standout All-Conference performer at Brookfield High School.�
"Alyssa is a winner," Arnold said.�"She has played at the state's highest level and has a really nice all-around game."
Lauren Little, a six-foot forward, helped lead her team to 52 wins over the last two seasons and back-to-back third place finishes at the Class 2 State Tournament.��She was a KRES All-Star in 2011 & 2012, a two-time All-Conference selection, two-time All-District selection, and�second team MBCA All-State selection in 2011.
"Lauren has tremendous upside," Arnold said.�"She has been extremely productive and has a chance to be really special for us.�Her size and ability to score in the paint will be a great asset."
Mullings, a five-foot five-inch guard, was an All-Conference Honorable Mention choice and�second team�All-District selection this past season.�Mullings led the team and the area in assists.
"Brooke has great hands and good court vision," Arnold stated.�"Her experience as the primary ball handler and playmaker for Hallsville is a big reason we wanted her here.�Most importantly, she is well versed and well coached in working with and feeding good post players."
Victoria Little, a six-foot forward, was a 2012�first team�Mid-Missouri All-Conference selection while helping lead the Lady Indians to their second consecutive third place finish at the Class 2 State Tournament.�She was also a second team All-District selection and one of the top rebounders in the area.
"Victoria, like her sister, has great upside," Arnold commented.�"She has great length, good feet, and a knack for finishing around the basket.�I believe she has the chance to be more productive at the collegiate level than in high school as she gets stronger."
Crow, a five-foot five-inch guard from California High School in California, Mo.,�won her�team's�Best Defensive Player Award to go along with multiple All-Tournament team selections. Crow also�earned All-Conference Honorable Mention.�
"Beth is aggressive, determined, and a great team player," Arnold stated.�"She plays extremely hard and gives it everything she has every time out."
Price, a five-foot four-inch guard from Galena High School in Galena, Mo., was�a first team�All-Conference and All-District selection this past season.�She was also a three-time MVP of her team.�
"Demi makes the game easier for everyone around her," Arnold said.�"She is willing to do the little things which we are really excited about."
