FRANKFORT, Ky. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that five Central Methodist women's basketball student-athletes have been named 2012-13 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Seniors Raylyn Nuss (O'Fallon, Mo.) and Brittney Hotsenpiller (Smithton, Mo.), along with juniors Katlyn Douglas (Bronaugh, Mo.), Alison Durst (Appleton City, Mo.) and Nakia Robinson (Saint Louis, Mo.), are among 125 Division I women's basketball student-athletes that have been named to the award list. Nuss and Hotsenpiller earn the honor for a second consecutive season.
Vanguard (Calif.) leads all institutions with six individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
