KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that 111 Division I Women's Basketball student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Fellow Heart of America Athletic Conference member; Culver-Stockton College�(Mo.),�led�all institutions with eight individuals on the list.
Central Methodist University had three individuals claim a spot on the scholar-athlete list, they are: junior MaKayla Adrian (Henley, Mo.), junior Sammie Jo Copeland (Polo, Mo.), and junior Bethany Freel (Sedalia, Mo.).
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.�
