KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the third time this season, Mercedes Jefflo (SR/Compton, Calif.) has been recognized at the Heart of America Women's Basketball Player of the Week after a pair of outstanding performances last week.
Jefflo led Central to a pair of wins over two nationally ranked opponents, topping No. 21 Clarke 89-74 and No. 19 Grand View 100-60. She averaged 27 points, seven assists, and four steals per game on the week.
Jefflo currently leads the program in scoring with an average of 19.12 points per game on the season. She is also nationally ranked in eight categories, including being 3rd in both steals per game (4.294) and total steals (73).
The No. 8-ranked Eagles will return to action this evening against (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene at 5:30 PM inside of Puckett Field House.
