Fayette, Mo. - The No. 13 Central Methodist women's basketball program complete the regular season sweep of Heart South Division foe Baker University 62-45 Wednesday night inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles have pushed their win streak to eight games, improving their overall record to 17-3 and 7-3 in conference action. Central also keeps its January record perfectly intact at 6-0.
Baker falls to 7-12 and 3-7 in conference play.
Holding just a five point lead at halftime, the Eagles outscored Baker 21-11 in the third quarter to push their advantage to 15 at the start of the fourth. Central led by as many as 22 points in the final frame, and would go on to earn a convincing 17 point victory.
Reigning Heart Player of the Week Eternati Willock paced the offense with 16 points on eight-of-12 shooting from the floor. Arleighshya McElroy followed with 14 points along with four rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block.
Leah Johnson was the final Eagle to land in double figures, tallying 13 points and 10 rebounds to earn a double-double. Leianya Massenat and Daryna Bachkarova each finished the evening with six points.
As a team, the Eagles shot 44.1-percent from the floor, while holding the Wildcats to 27.3-percent. Central also made its presence known in the paint, scoring 48 points compared to 18 for BU.
CMU heads back out on the road to face Clarke University Saturday, Jan. 22 at 12:00 p.m. in Dubuque, Iowa.
