Fayette, Mo. - The No. 9 Central Methodist Women's Basketball program defeated Missouri Baptist University 95-75 Saturday night inside Puckett Field House.
With the victory, Central improves to 3-0 while the Spartans fall to 2-2.
The Eagles outscored Missouri Baptist 27-13 and 28-19 in the first and second quarters, taking a 55-32 lead at the halftime break. Despite the Spartans outscoring Central, 27-18 in the third quarter, CMU maintained its double-digit lead in the fourth to secure a 20-point victory.
Senior forward Daryna Bachkarova led the offense with a career-high 32 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field including five three-point baskets. She also recorded a team-high five steals and added four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.
Leianya Massenat also landed in double figures with 21 points paired with four steals and three assists. Leah Johnson secured a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Natalia Shpegel was the final Eagle to reach double-digit scoring with 12 points.
Overall, Central shot 49.2-percent from the field including a cool 55-percent from three and 73.3-percent from the charity stripe. The Eagles defense forced 33 Missouri Baptist turnovers on 18 steals.
The Eagles remain at home to host No. 13 Sterling Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
