Peru, Neb. - The No. 4 Central Methodist Women's Basketball program reached the 100-plus point mark for the third time this season, cruising past Peru State College 104-63 Saturday afternoon in Peru, Neb.
The Eagles keep their perfect record intact at 14-0, including an 8-0 mark in conference play. Peru State falls to 5-10 and 1-8 in the Heart.
Four Eagles landed in double figures including three in the starting five. Leianya Massenat led the way with 24 points on nine-of-15 shooting from the floor which included five three-point baskets.
Daryna Bachkarova was right behind with 21 points and matched Massenat with five three-point makes. Bachkarova also finished the night with a team-leading five steals.
Taliyah Carter scored 13 points in only 13 minutes of action off the bench. It marks the freshman's first double-digit scoring performance of her career.
Zutorya Cook added 12 points along with seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Leah Johnson stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, a game-high 11 rebounds and six blocks, and three steals. The six blocks were just two shy of tying the single-game program record.
Jaicia Canady stuffed the stat sheet, tallying eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.
As a team, the Eagles shot nearly 50-percent from the floor and over 36-percent from the three-point line. Central won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Bobcats 47-38.
The defense also forced 28 Bobcat turnovers on 21 steals.
Central returns home to host Park University Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 5:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
