Fayette, Mo. - For the third time this season, Central Methodist sophomore forward Leah Johnson was tabbed as the Heart Women's Basketball Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Johnson, a native of Ewing, N.J., averaged a double double at 24.5 points and 15 rebounds/game in two wins this past week.
Against Mount Mercy Saturday, she tallied a double-double with a career-high 29 points along with 15 rebounds. In the previous game aginst Evangel, Johnson scored a game-high 20 points and added four blocks.
Johnson and the Eagles are now 26-0 and 20-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Central clinched the Heart Regular Season Championship outright with a win over Baker University Monday night.
Central will play its final regular season road game against Park University Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Parkville, Mo.
