Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball program had three Eagles earn Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators this week.
The three Eagles to earn the distinction were Mary Copeland, Kaitlyn Patke, and Asnate Gerke. It marks the first time any of the three have earned Academic All-District honors.
The awards' purpose is to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Athletic Communication leaders from every NAIA institution.
Each school's district nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the award: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically; have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA; and be a starter or important reserve.
