In his three seasons leading the program, Yung coached an All-State player, six All-District players, and five All-Conference selections.
Yung posted three consecutive winning seasons while on the sidelines for Battle High School from 2021-2024. He took the program to unprecedented heights, as the Spartans were ranked as high as No. 8 in the MSHSAA Class Six polls.
Prior to his time at Battle, Yung served as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Moberly Area Community College for two years. While with the Greyhounds, Yung assisted the program with game day planning, scouting, recruiting, and program development.
In 2020, MACC won both the Region 16 and District Championship, and qualified for back-to-back NJCAA Division I National Tournaments (2020 and 2021).
Altogether, he coached and developed two All-Americans, six All-Region selections, and eight All-Conference players.
Previously, Yung spent three full seasons as the Director of Basketball Operations at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He provided direct oversight of the program's operating budget, including travel, equipment, guarantees, recruiting, meals, fundraising, and supplies.
Yung is no stranger to CMU, as he completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Central Methodist.
He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Central in 2013, before earning his Masters of Education in Athletic Administration in 2015.
As a graduate student, Yung served on the women's basketball coaching staff for two years at Central Methodist. While on staff, he recruited and developed the Heart Newcomer of the Year and NAIA All-American Morgan Vetter. He was also a student assistant from 2011-13 and was a part of the 2013 team that qualified for the first-ever NAIA Division I National Tournament in program history.
